She has lived there for 40 years and has no desire to ever move from the community. She loves to golf and the community she lives in has its own golf course!

Stanley had many choices of where to visit while he was there. Polk County has several points of interest:
*Lakeland has an Air Museum, host to the Sun N Fun Fly In every year.
*A Large Flea Market
*Bubba's Mud Ranch is right down the street.
*The Circle B Bar Nature Reserve is also close by in Lakeland.

Flat Stanley is leaving Charlie's grandma and heading to Toronto, Canada!
Happy Trails!!!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7667343137650913970.post-77473216744037677622009-09-13T11:28:00.000-07:002010-01-11T04:15:40.517-08:00What to do!

Dear Friend,

Our class just read the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. In this funny story, a boy named Stanley Lambchop is flattened by a bulletin board. He doesn’t get hurt but the doctor measures him at four feet tall, a foot wide and a half an inch thick! Stanley has many adventures. He gets mailed to California, flies like a kite and even pretends to be a painting to catch sneak thieves. In the end, his brother inflates him back to normal with a bicycle pump.
Enclosed is my very own Flat Stanley that I created using the Stanley from www.flatstanley.com. Please help Stanley to have further adventures during his visit with you. Then in two weeks send him somewhere new. We want to see how far he can travel until May 1, 2010. Be as creative as you wish~have fun! Please mail letters, drawings, souvenirs, and photos to tell us about his time with you. You will find the address on his back. This is primarily a Geography project so please also include information about where you live and what it’s like there.

We need to have Flat Stanley mailed back to our school by May 1, 2010. Pass him around, help him travel the world!

Thank you,

Mrs. Carter
Below are some ideas of what you can write and send us:

*Climate and weather
*Your city and state
*Distance from you to Longwood
*Things you like to do for fun
*Areas of interest where you live
*How you are related to the student
*Post cards
*Letters
*Souvenirs

We look forward to hearing from you!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
